Frequently asked questions

Where are you based?


We are based in North Lakes (North Brisbane). However, we service the entire Brisbane region, Sunshine Coast, Gold Coast, and Byron Bay.




What do you provide?


Bar staff, glassware, ice, eskies, water station, bar fridges. We can also provide lawn games, and our giant light up love sign for an additional cost.




How do I book?


Get in touch with us via email, phone, facebook/Instagram messenger or submit a contact form through our website, and we can organise all the details with you from there.




How much does it cost?


Price varies between each event depending on the package you choose, extras (lawn games, love sign), number of guests, and distance we need to travel to the event. So please email us at hello@horizonbar.com.au with the details so we can give you an exact cost.




Do you have cancellation fees?


Yes, we do. Once you lock in your event with us, we reserve that day for you so that no one else can book that date. Our deposits are non-refundable and should a cancellation be made within 30 days of the event then an additional 25% compensation of the total cost will be required.




Do you provide alcohol?


No, we are completely BYO. This is great for you as you miss out on the markup on alcohol. You simply provide us with the drinks you want on your day and we serve them for you.




What drinks can you serve?


Wine, champagne, bottled beer & cider, spirits, mixers, soft drink, and non-alcoholic beverages.




Do you do the washing up


Yes we collect glasses throughout the night and take care of all the washing up.




How far in advance do we need to book you?


We are taking bookings up to 24 months in advance. Popular dates don’t last long so we suggest you get in touch ASAP.




What time will you arrive on the day?


We like to make sure we have access to setup at the venue at least two hours in advance.




Can we hire your van for our venue or catering staff to use?


Absolutely! We offer a dry hire package that allows you to hire our van for use without us. We simply drop it off and pick it up when you’re finished. We do however require confirmation of RSA certified staff that will be using the van.




Can we have a party in the park?


We can definitely do parties in the park, however, the customer is responsible for booking the site and providing us with confirmation of payment/permission. A generator will also be required if there is no access to power.




Do you require water and power?


We carry water onboard our caravan however we do require access to power.




Can I use your van for marketing our own product?


Absolutely! We love to work with other businesses and organisations and help promote them. We have our standard packages that come with our staff, or if you’re wanting to man the ship yourself you can simply dry hire our van. We even allow you to plaster our van with your own branding/promotional material (as long as it doesn't cause damge to the van).




Do I have to pay delivery/travel fees?


Delivery is free within 30kms of where we are based in North Lakes. Beyond this we charge $2/km.




Is it just bar service?


Yes, we like to serve from the bar and leave your guests to mingle.




How much alcohol do we need to purchase?


It can be difficult calculating alcohol quantities for guests and most online drinks calculators are not helpful at all, we would suggest steering clear of them. Send us a message and we can assist you in working it out!




Do you have fridges to cool the drinks?


We have two bar fridges and an esky to keep drinks cool as well as ice buckets for beers and ciders. However, you will need to have your drinks chilled prior to our arrival.
